Death of a Corner Drugstore

"Death of a Corner Drugstore" was honored to be nominated for the Best Short Documentary by the International Documentary Association.  It has been added to the archives of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

"Corner Drugstore" made its UK premiere at the  Edinburgh International Film Festival in Scotland.  Edinburgh is the world's longest running film fest.  

This doc won the "Inspiration Award" at the Lake Arrowhead Film Festival in California on May 6. Check out their website to see pictures of the fest and who won in the other categories.  We were in great company! www.arrowheadfilmfest.com

8 mm Dreams

...a meditation on the cyclic nature of memory...

...a visual poem honoring an Italian-American childhood...

 

8 mm Dreams was constructed from the 8 mm films that Brooke Maroldi's father, Joe, shot when she was a child growing up in Brooklyn and New Jersey.  It is a multi-layered dreamscape set to haunting music.

"8 mm. Dreams" will screen at the  Wisconsin Film Festival in the "Wisconsin's Own" Program.  Screenings are 5 pm, Friday, March 30 and 2:30 pm Sunday, April 1 at the Cinematheque.  The theater is on the UW-Madison campus, Vilas Hall, 821 University Avenue.
Back in New Jersey, it will be shown at Montclair State University, on March 29.  Details to come.
It was featured in a program of short films sponsored by the Milwaukee Independent Film Society (MIFS) on Feb. 22 at the Discovery World Museum's Theater.
It premiered at the Italian-American Short Film Night festival on June 12 in New York.   The festival will tour several US cities in the Fall.  More info to come.  Thanks to all the family and friends who came to the screening!
